One desktop not enough, how about 20?
Following the beautify-your-desktop theme, if you suffer from a cluttered desktop, let’s face it who doesn’t, and you haven’t quite got around to either
a. Replacing windows with an alternative like Emerge Desktop
b. Adding widgets like Yahoo Widgets
this may be what the doctor ordered for all icon junkies.

The application runs with an icon in the task bar which has a number of components including:

- Desktop Windows: For each virtual desktop, it displays a list of applications and their status.
- Full-screen Preview: Just like Microsoft XP Powertoy, previews the virtual screens.
- Settings: A dashboard which offers everything you need for full control.
- Configure Desktops: Full configuration of desktops, how many, short-cut keys, screen resolution, background etc.
- Desktop Preview: In case you want to know what’s up on other desktops.
- Desktop Rules: This small but powerful module that helps to distribute windows.
So you’re thinking, “How do I get my hands on this lifesaver?” Fret no more!
Download Dexpot
Download a copy of Dexpot 1.4. See Ref1 for Dexpot 1.4 download and installation instructions.
Install Dexpot
Run the installer to set up Dexpot on your computer and follow the installation steps.
The recommended operating system to use is one of the following - Windows 95/98/ME or NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista Beta (except x64).
Dexpot to the rescue
Then the Dexpot Icon should appear in the Task bar. Right click on it and configure your virtual desktops to your fancy. For instance, under the general settings option you can set Dexpot to start when you start your computer.
Enjoy being organised and having a sane desktop, or 20 sane desktops.
