Icelandair says thank you with 25% discount
When times are tough, you quickly learn who your friends are, and times must be tough in Iceland at the moment!
So tough that in addition to the $2.1 billion emergency package approved by The International Monetary Fund (IMF) earlier this week, the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and sweden have promised to lend a further $2.5 billion to Iceland.
A gesture that has not gone unnoticed by Icelandair. The Icelandic airline has just launched a marketing campaign specifically targeted at customers living in the Nordic countries saying thank you by offering a 25% discount.
The discount applies to Economy Class tickets for flights between the Nordic countries and Iceland as well as flights from Iceland to the US booked from 22 – 27 November, (see full conditions and terms on Icelandair websites).
Of course, Icelandair may already have had plans for the discount before the Nordic loan was announced, but even if it is just a clever marketing campaign, it is still bound to be a welcome offer.
