Lonely Planet Guides for your PSP
I was browsing Lonely Planet’s website looking for the latest edition of their Spain guide, when I stumbled across the news that they will soon sell guides for the PSP (Playstation Portable).
Now that is what I call good news. I know, I was concerned about getting mugged if I used the PSP with the language tool TalkMan (see Need help with those foreign languages?), but this is different.
For a while now, I’ve been toying with the idea of creating little mini-guides for my PSP to take with me when travelling, in particular now that the PSP supports flash content. But if Lonely Planet produces some decent guides, I can just create little appendices with my own notes.
The guides will be called “Passport to…™” and appear to be limited to city guides. Lonely Planet plans to launch its first 6 guides on September 28, which will go on sale for $49.95 RRP per city guide. They will include audio walks, video content and itineraries.
In the meantime, I’ll be creating my own PSP-compatible guide for my upcoming trip to Salamanca, Spain. If I can produce enough original content, I might even make little PSP-compatible guides available here on this blog some day soon.
