Wonders never Cease - or do they?

Well, apparently wonders do cease, because only one out of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World still remains.

But fear not, thanks to Swiss film producer and author Bernard Weber we will soon have 7 new wonders, and you can have a say.

The New7Wonder Panel of Experts have chosen 21 finalists from a list of 77 potential wonders. The election of the final 7 is now open to the world’s population. Up for re-election is also the only remaining Ancient Wonder, the Great Pyramids of Giza.

You can help choose the 7 winners by registering as a New7Wonders member at the New7Wonder web site. Registration is free, and you have till 2007 to cast your 7 votes.

The New 7 Wonders of the World will be announced during a declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007.
