Goa airport reopened for visitors
Dabolim Airport in Goa will be open to visitors again from today, 3 January, according to NAVHIND TIMES.
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) imposed a ban on visitors entering the airport on 24 December 2006 for security reasons. Prior to the ban some governments had issued travel warnings to their citizens informing them of a potential terrorist threat in Goa during late December.
In addition to the visitors ban, the Indian government responded to the potential threat by deploying extra security forces at Dabolim Airport and other tourist areas.
