Airline promises to re-create the magic of air travel
I have complained about the no-frills trend in air travel before, so when an airline promises to “re-create the magic of air travel” (source: Silverjet), I pay attention.
British airline Silverjet starts services from London Luton to New York Newark airport on 25 January 2007, and it will be business class only!
With promises of 30 minute check-ins, a private air terminal, a maximum of 100 co-passengers and the offer of a meal served in their Silver Lounge prior to flying in case you want to go straight to sleep once on-board, it all sounds like a fantastic dream to me.
But the pampering doesn’t stop there. You’ll find no serving trollies on board, all food will be served by hand. Gone are middle seats, so there will be no fighting over who gets the armrest. The seats convert into flat beds and have built-in reading lights, laptop power and seat back massager. If that isn’t enough for you how do these extra services suit you: Chauffeur Service, Valet Parking, Helicopter Transfer or the less glamorous Station Pick-up?
I’m sold! The only problem is, I can’t afford to blow the £799.30 they quoted me on a plane ride to New York and back. I don’t even want to go to New York right now, but that is another matter. But if you’re more fortunate than me, or if you, like me, just fancy drooling over what you can’t have, you can read more at Silverjet’s web site.
