Longest Underground River Challenge
The St. Paul Underground River in Palawan is one of the longest underground rivers in the world. I learned this from Enrico Dee last Thursday morning, 1 March, in our View of a Local in the Philippines interview.
By Thursday evening two divers in Mexico had announced their discovery of what they claim is the longest underground river in the world.
Divers Stephen Bogaerts and Robert Schmittner claim to have found a 95-mile long underground river beneath the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico.
The peninsula, which mainly consists of limestone bedrock riddled with caves, is already popular with divers, but I’m sure this new discovery will make it even more popular.
