Dye your hair green for St. Patrick’s Day
Put on your green frock, dye your hair green and go to the nearest Irish pub for a pint of shamrock-branded Guinness, you don’t have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Ireland and everything Irish is celebrated all over the world on St. Patrick’s Day and usually everyone is invited, Irish or not.
St. Patrick’s Day falls on 17 March, which is when the main celebrations will take place, but over the years the celebrations in Ireland have developed into a five-day St. Patrick’s Festival.
The festival, which runs from 15 - 19 March in Dublin, is expecting 1 million people to turn up to enjoy music, street theatre, family carnivals, comedy, dance, fireworks and the spectacular St. Patrick’s Festival Parade.
All the events in Dublin are listed on the official St. Patrick’s Festival website. If you can’t make it to Dublin, celebrations are also held in many other places such as Barcelona, London, Munich, Montserrat, New York, Sydney, Tokyo and in just about any Irish pub you can find. Feel free to leave details of any celebrations you know of in the comment box.
So if you’re looking for a good time on 17 March, just sport something green and join the celebrations of everything Irish!
