Videos from train journey in Peru

3 April, 2007 by Anni Poulsen

It’s rare that travel videos succeed in making you feel like you’re there on the journey, but Jorge Gobbi has done a good job at doing just that with his recent videos from a train journey, he took from Lima to Huancayo in Peru.

His Tren Lima – Huancayo, algunos videos post is in Spanish only, but even if your Spanish is as poor as mine, the videos still give you a taste of what the journey was like. Huancayo lies at an altitude of about 3,271 metres, so you can imagine a few “hairy” moments along the journey.

The train service from Lima to Huancayo has only been running for a few months now, since 7 December 2006, so Jorge’s videos are likely to be amongst the very first travel videos (if not the first) to be made public of that particular journey.

Note

Jorge Gobbi was one of the first interviewees in our View of a Local series. He runs a number of travel blogs including Blog de Viajes and Despegar Blog.

Thanks Ann! I will try to translate the post to english so that more can read it.

  2. Anni Poulsen says:

My pleasure Jorge, and thanks for sharing your videos. As for the translation, I think the videos speak for themselves and if not they can work as an incentive to learn Spanish.
