No Polar First helicopter spotting in the UK
Ohhh – I was looking forward to trying to spot the cherry-red helicopter, but there will be no trip to the UK for the helicopter this time.
As regular readers of this site will know, Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill are currently attempting to fly around the world via the South and North Poles in a helicopter (see Second attempt at world record in helicopter). They made it to the South Pole back in January and the North Pole in April and had planned to go via the UK on their way back to Dallas, USA.
Unfortunately due to bad weather, which currently has them grounded in Igloolik, Nunavut, they’ve decided not to go to the UK afterall, but to fly their helicopter via Canada instead.
Oh well, I guess, I’ll get over it. I’ll have to settle for reading about their great achievement at Polar First. If you happen to be in Dallas, the trio should be landing at Fort Worth on 23 May.
