Tour de France countdown
3 days, 8 hours, 58 minutes and 5 seconds till the opening ceremony of this year’s Tour de France at Trafalgar Square in London - and I can’t wait! I must admit that I’d forgotten it was this weekend till yesterday, when a friend of ours called to ask if we wanted to borrow their flat for a bird’s-eye view of the race. Now that I remember, I feel like a kid waiting for school to be out.

Dawn and I both plan to be at the opening ceremony on Friday and the Prologue on Saturday. So expect photos galore on either Sunday or Monday. Or better still, join us and an estimated 3 million other spectators for what should be hours of cycling frenzy.
If you are in London, you might want to check out The People’s Village in Hyde Park as well. Amongst various cycling exhibits and displays it promises to feature “the best of France and Britain, from food to tourism and culture [..]“, (source: The Tour de France London website).
You can find all the information you need on the Tour de France London website, including a list of road closures for anyone planning to drive in London from 6-8 July.
