Do’s and Don’ts in Laos
No matter how culturally sensitive you are, if you’re an experienced traveller, you’re bound to have committed a few faux pas on your travels. It gets particularly difficult when you’re travelling from country to country to remember the unwritten rules of acceptable and expected behaviour.
The Ecotourism Laos website run by The Lao National Tourism Administration has produced the “Do’s & Don’ts in Laos” guide to help travellers remember how to behave when visiting Laos.
The guide is a series of cartoons each illustrating a do or don’t situation. The combination of amusing drawings and informative snippets makes the advice easy to remember, and is a clever way of getting your point across without lecturing.

It is definitely worth a quick browse for anyone planning to visit Laos, but perhaps also for inspiration for tourism bodies of other countries. Go to the Ecotourism Laos website to judge for yourself.
