A Truly Responsible Traveller
Briton Jason Lewis completed his mission to become the first to circumnavigate the planet using only human power on Saturday, 6 October 2007.
Personally I’m not really interested in all these first-to-do-this, first-to-do-that records, but I am deeply impressed by Lewis’ achievement!
13 years it took him to complete the human powered only circumnavigation, which he divided into 16 legs:
- European Leg
- Atlantic Xing
- Caribbean Xing
- North American Leg
- Central American Leg
- Hawaii Xing
- Hawaii Hike
- Tarawa Xing
- Solomons Xing
- Coral Sea Xing
- Australian Leg
- Indonesian Leg
- Asian Leg
- Indian Ocean Xing
- African Leg
- European Finish
How is that for reducing your CO2 footprint! Read all about Jason Lewis’ achievements at his Expedition 360 website.
