Advent calendar to brighten up Danish town
I have just posted my annual advent calendar to my nephews and nieces, but the Danish town of Skagen has gone one better. They have created a massive “live” Advent calendar by decorating the doors of museums, hotels and shops.
Every day from 1 - 24 December a door will be opened to reveal a Christmas-related event such as candy making, beer tasting and concerts.
Skagen is already very popular with tourists, both domestic and international, but what a wonderful way to brighten up the cold and dark month of December! I wish my local council would take note and do the same.
You can find more information about Skagen at skagen-tourist.dk and if you can read Danish, you can see the locations of the calendar doors as well as the planned events on this online calendar.
