Find local climbing partner through Bouldr
Over the years I’ve slowly come to accept that my spaghetti arms will never be strong enough for any serious climbing, and perhaps for that very reason I’ve always had nothing but admiration for climbers.

So all you climbers out there, for what it is worth, you have my respect!
As admirable as it may be, however, climbing can be a very lonely business and finding suitable climbing spots when travelling can be difficult. But Bouldr, a website about bouldering, is working hard to change that.
Coming up to its second birthday Bouldr describes itself as “a completely new free service that allows climbers from all over the world to share advice, new problems, local knowledge, and other such climbing related information for free.”
At the heart of the service is the “Explore” section, where climbers can list their favourite bouldering spots on a map. So far mainly climbs in Europe have been listed, but I also spotted climbs in Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sweden, Thailand and the US.
Anyone can view maps and photos of climbs, but you’ll need to be registered in order to upload your own climbs, comment on climbs or participate in the Forums.
The site also features a “People” section, where all registered members are listed. A handy “Send Message” feature allows you to contact other climbers, if e.g. you wish to meet up for a climb at their local crag, when travelling to their country.
Registration is free, the site is easy to use and with just under 160 climbers registered already, I see no reason why climbers shouldn’t flock to Bouldr.
