Share your travel photos with voice-over and doodling

Are you struggling to get your friends to attend your travel slideshow evenings? Then share your travel photos with the world instead via VoiceThread.

There’s no shortage of online services where you can store and share your travel photos, but VoiceThread allows you to tell the story behind the photo through voice-over and doodling.

The service also allows other people to comment (voice or text) on your photos, which sure beats the yawns of boredom at slideshow evenings.

As with most online services, you’ll need to register in order to use VoiceThread. You get the choice between a pro-membership and a free membership. The free membership has limited storage, but it should be plenty for a slideshow or two.

VoiceThread is easy to use with a ‘create’ area where you build your slideshow by uploading your photos and adding your comments and doodles. Once you have saved the slideshow, it’s stored in the ‘MyVoice’ area, where you’ll also find the slideshows you’ve been invited to view by other VoiceThread members.

By default your slideshow is set to private, but you can change that to public under ‘Share’. You can also invite just a select few to view your photos by sending them an email with a link to your slideshow – a nice way of making those friends of yours feel guilty about not turning up to you slideshow evening.
