Silverjet close to relaunch
It looks like Silverjet is not out of the game just yet. The airline ceased operations just 12 days ago on 30 May, but yesterday the administrators for Silverjet officially confirmed that they are getting very close to a relaunch.
A principal agreement to acquire and relaunch Silverjet has been signed by Kingplace Ltd and the contractual completion is expected by Friday 13 June 2008.
It has been rumoured for a few days now that Silverjet might be relaunching, but it must give hope to Silverjet ticket-holders to hear these words from the horse’s mouth:
“If these negotiations are successful, we expect to take on all of the existing staff, to honour Silverjet’s existing customers’ tickets and see Silverjet return to the skies in a matter of weeks”, Ian Ilsley, Chairman of Heritage and a Director of Kingplace.
Happy flying Silverjet!
Update - 18 June 2008: No relaunch afterall.
