Micro-blogging
I hang my head in shame and admit that I haven’t been a very active micro-blogger. Every time I hear of a new micro-blogging service, I mean to check it out, but most of the time I never get around to signing up for it.
I have signed up for a few services, though, hung around for a little while, but then lost interest.
But this is about to change. As micro-blogging can be a very handy travelling tool, I’ve made a mid-summer promise to myself that I’ll become a more active micro-blogger. So I thought, I’d start by publishing my current micro-blogging profiles here for anyone who wants to connect.
At the moment I’m on Twitter, Plurk and Friendfeed, but would be happy to try out other services if you have another service that you prefer.
My Twitter profile:
http://twitter.com/poulsen - I’ve been on Twitter for a little while, but till now I haven’t really used the service that often. - I’ve deleted my Twitter account, please see update below.
My Plurk profile:
http://www.plurk.com/user/poulsen - I only just signed up with Plurk today. I like the timeline and the threaded reply feature. I’m not convinced that I need both Twitter and Plurk, but I’m happy to give it a go. (See update below)
My Friendfeed profile:
http://friendfeed.com/poulsen - I signed up recently, but so far I only use it to re-publish my Twitters and the Travel Cooler feed.
As a side note (although not on micro-blogging), if you’d like to meet up when travelling,
my Dopplr profile is:
http://www.dopplr.com/traveller/poulsen
and finally if you’d like to connect with me professionally,
my Linkedin profile is:
http://www.linkedin.com/in/annipoulsen
Let me know if you’d rather connect through other services, otherwise I look forward to connecting with you on Twitter, Plurk, Friendfeed, Dopplr or Linkedin.
Update: After almost a month on Plurk, I’ve decided that Plurk is the service for me. Plurk to me equals conversation, whereas Twitter never became more than a push tool. As a consequence I’ve made the decision to delete my Twitter account.
