Dedicated family track at Copenhagen airport
If you’re travelling with children this summer from Copenhagen airport, going through security just got a little bit easier.
Earlier this week the airport opened a security track for families only. The track, which can only be used by families travelling with children, will stay open all through the busy summer period till the end of August.
Head of Security at Copenhagen Airport, Johnnie Müller said:
“Families with children need extra time to get through security, but this is not fun if you have an impatient business traveller in the queue behind you. So to the benefit of all travellers we’ve introduced a family track to be used by families travelling with children only. The family track staff allow for extra time, so children and parents get a good and relaxing start to their journey. At the same time all other travellers benefit by getting through security faster.” (source: Copenhagen airport website - in Danish.)
Usually I’m not in favour of security tracks being dedicated to certain types of travellers, but this one makes sense to me. Travelling with children can cause a lot of stress not just to the parents but also their fellow travellers. So if by introducing these dedicated tracks some of that stress can be alleviated, then airports worldwide please introduce family tracks.
