Smoke all you want on board new airline

1 August, 2006 by Anni Poulsen

With its promise to “treat its passengers like the guest of an international Grand Hotel” SMINTAIR at first glance seemed to offer a solution to my problems with budget airlines (see “Budget airlines ruin the travel experience“).

It wasn’t until I realised what SMINTAIR stood for that my bubble burst – Smoker’s International Airways.

Yes, you did read it right, Smoker’s International Airways (not sure if they meant to put the apostrophe before the s, but never mind).

Charming and beautiful flight attendants

According to its website (smintair.com) SMINTAIR plans to not only allow its passengers to smoke, but will also offer “signature recipes created by internationally renowned chefs [...]” and “charming and beautiful flight attendants in uniforms designed by famous couturiers [...]“.

Second Hand Smoke

And you don’t even need to worry about airquality, because according to SMINTAIR Managing Director Alexander W. Schoppmann the belief that Second Hand Smoke should damage your health is just “one of the biggest lies floating around everywhere in the World.”

And just to calm those non-smokers amongst us SMINTAIR promises that “non-smokers will find the cabin air more refreshing than on any other flight with any other airline, as SMINTAIR adds fresh outside air to the conditioning system!”

(F)light entertainment

Even if you like me have no intention to be on SMINTAIR’s first scheduled flight from Germany to Japan in March 2007, I still encourage you to head on over to their website smintair.com, it will have you in stitches.
