Sweltering South Downs Way Walks
Walking the South Downs Way in the hottest month of the year is not the best idea I have ever had. But I have had plans to walk the South Downs Way for 4 years now, so it was with a now-or-never frame of mind that I took the first steps of the 159 km journey last weekend.

Crete after the crowds have left
I visited Crete at the end of the tourist season, when there was finally room for the local man and his donkey. Crete was a last minute decision towards the end of 2004, when my partner and I found ourselves with 2 weeks off and nowhere to go.
